Supported Independent Living
Supported independent living supports to help you live in a home environment. It includes help or supervision with daily tasks, like personal care or cooking meals. It helps you live as independently as possible, while building your skills.Supported independent living is for people with higher support needs, who need some level of help at home all the time.
Our mission is to improve the lives of each of our participants. We support you to develop the skills that you need to live on your own.
The supports are tailored to the individual’s needs.
Our facilities are maintained to the highest standards, and we have the best carers to make you feel at home and well looked after.

Assistance With Daily Personal Activities
Participants are at the heart of everything we do. We engage with participants, their families and careers in the services and support we provide. We deliver NDIS Core and Capacity Building Supports based on participants goals and needs.
We will assist you with activities of daily living according to participant’s interests.
This includes:
• Supported Independent Living. These supports will be tailored to the individual and can be provided in a range of environments, including the participant’s own home.
• We provide support to individuals who requires High Intensity Supports.
• One-on-one Support
• Activities of daily living such as showering, grooming, dressing and oral care.

Develop daily Life Skills
• Don’t let your disability make you anxious as we at ABB services will provide you with all the support that you need to carry out your day-to-day activities. We will help you with the development of daily living and life skills with NDIS so that the daily activities do not seem overwhelming.
• In the development of life skills with the NDIS, our experience and dedicated support staff will help you to improve in cooking, maintaining hygiene, communicating with others, taking part in community initiatives, taking care of your health, travelling, etc. So, if performing your day-to-day tasks seems challenging, our professionals will help you manage them efficiently.
• Our trained and experienced staff support you to accomplish your day-to-day tasks such as bathing, showering, maintaining hygiene, bowel management, taking medicines on time, attending community programs, using other support services and others.

Travel & Transport
Getting around your community could be difficult if you could not drive as a result of your disability. ABB Services can support you if you are a NDIS participant and have been approved for the support category “transport” in your NDIS plan.
We have capable staff members who can drive you to your appointment or another place in the community and take you back home when you’re done. We provide you with safe, convenient transport, scheduled in advance to help you get to your location such as:
• School, TAFE or Uni
• Appointment with your GP or other medical professionals
• Your local shopping centres
• Around your community
• To your worship centres
• To the local market, Cinemas, and clubs
NOTE: Our Support worker will help you feel more confident in travelling by assisting you in your travel during your stays with us. We can arrange pick-ups and drop off to and from airport without any extra cost during your STA with us.

Assistance With Community & Social Outings
We engage with participants, their families and careers in the services and support we provide. We deliver NDIS Core and Capacity Building Supports based on participants goals and needs.
Provision of support to enable a participant to engage in the community, social, and/or recreational activities. Some of this activity includes:
• Attend personal development courses.
• Join a social group.
• Take an outing or a holiday.
• Go on a holiday camp.
• Visit your local library.
• See a movie or a concert.
• Go to community events, and/or
• Join a sporting club.
The cost of community participation activities will also be covered by your NDIS plan.
Additionally, as long as suggestions are appropriate, viable and necessary, our friendly and dedicated staff are always open and receptive to action your ideas. You can use the core supports budget within your NDIS plan to help you socialize and get out into the community.

Meal Preparation
Your disability might mean you can’t shop, cook or clean up after preparing your meal. Our support worker will assist you to shop for your food, prepare your meals, and to clean up afterwards according to your dietary requirements. We understand that everyone’s situation is unique and will work with you and your support team and your funding method to implement the most suitable support plan.

Assistance with Households Tasks
We strive to go above and beyond to meet the needs of our people. That’s why we offer an extensive range of daily household services for our clients. All household services are personalized to meet your own specific and unique needs. Individuals living with a disability may find difficulty in performing their daily tasks. The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) may be able to help in providing assistance if this is specific to you. This service aims to assist individuals with completing and managing domestic activities that are unable to be completed alone.
Some examples of household tasks:
• Cleaning the dishes
• Changing bed sheets
• Washing and hanging out the laundry
• Cleaning toilet and bathroom areas.
• Cleaning the floors, mats, stairs, and other surfaces
• Dusting
• Emptying rubbish bins
• Vacuuming high traffic areas, under sofas, beds, desks, and other surfaces
• Mopping floors including tiled areas

Short / Medium Term Accommodation
& Assistance
(Including The Provision of Respite Care)
Short Term Accommodation (STA)
Short-term Accommodation is designed to give you and your informal supports a well-earned break, change of scenery and routine. when your usual caring supports aren’t available or when you need to be away from your usual accommodation to participate in new activities. STA is usually:
• A period of respite
• Includes all expenses in a 24-hour period and including assistance with self-care or community access, accommodation, food and negotiated activities
• Included in Core Budget of the person’s NDIS plan
Medium Term Accommodation (MTA) funding
If the person is
• waiting home modifications to be done
• leaving hospital, aged care or a custodial setting
• experiencing a breakdown of supports and can’t live in their current home
• waiting for a vacancy to become available in the place where they want to live, and they have an offer for this place or
• waiting for new build SDA to be ready, and they have an offer for this SDA
In these situations, the NDIS may determine it reasonable and necessary to fund the person for MTA funding.

One & One Respite
ONE & ONE respite allows the opportunity for the participant to be supported by ABB Services whilst providing their carer with short term breaks from their usual caring responsibilities. The support items include all expenses in a 24-hour period including assistance with self-care or community access activities, accommodation, food and negotiated activities. This aims to support ongoing caring arrangements between participants and their carers.
